THEME
Lady’s Island Lake in County Wexford is designated as both a Special Protection Area and a Special Area of Conservation, and is also a place of pilgrimage. However, experts recently warned that the lake is “from many points of view” dead. Despite the pollution being highlighted since the 1980s, no effective action has been taken. All the various enforcement and accountability arms of the State have failed to protect Lady’s Island Lake.
The Save Lady’s Island Lake Campaign will outline how this disaster has developed and how people can support their campaign to reverse this ecological catastrophe.
